Exports of fresh Armenian fruits and vegetables to the UAE begin at up to 40 tons per week

Exports of fresh Armenian fruits and vegetables to the United Arab Emirates have begun, with initial volumes reaching up to 40 tons per week. Export volumes are expected to increase at a later stage. According to the Armenian Ministry of Economy, the exports are being carried out within the framework of a memorandum of understanding signed on August 27 with Watermelon Ecosystem, a company based in Dubai.

During his visit to Dubai, Minister of Economy of Armenia Gevorg Papoyan visited the company. Accompanied by its founders, the minister toured the facilities and familiarized himself with the company’s operations, infrastructure, and production capabilities.

Watermelon Ecosystem is a technology platform operating in the food and beverage sector that brings together restaurants, hotels, food suppliers, manufacturers, and farmers. It provides digital procurement, supply chain management, and financing solutions.

The company also actively cooperates with local producers and suppliers, contributing to expanding the availability of their products in the food service sector.

During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities for making investments in Armenia. They agreed to strengthen cooperation both in implementing investment projects and in increasing the volume of exports of Armenian products.
